Diagnostic and Imaging Department (Radiology)

Radiology services provide images of diagnostic value in order to assist doctors and related medical personnel in managing patients. This is achieved with availability of various imaging modalities handled by experienced and skilled staffs. Diagnostic imaging department of ABMC are ready to serve.

Services provided:

  • General X-Ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Computerize Tomography (CT Scan)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Portable X-Ray
  • Mammogram
  • C-Arm
  • Bone Mineral Densitometry (DXA)

X-ray

X-ray imaging is the most popular imaging modality used to assist doctors in diagnosing vast spectrum of pathologies. it is readily availableand non-time consuming.

Studies performed:

  • Chest X-Ray
  • Skull
  • Spine
  • Pelvis
  • Upper Extremities (Shoulder, Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Forearm & etc)
  • Lower Extremities (Foot, Ankle, Knee, Tibia Fibula & etc)

Ultrasound

Ultrasound studies is safe, non radiation procedure to provide high quality images of organs in the body. Ultrasound study also enables real time imaging of vascular flow and heart contractions in adults as well as intrauterine babies. Ultrasound study can also provide images neonatal brain.

Studies performed :

  • Abdomen & pelvis
  • Aorta
  • Breast
  • DVT Study
  • Scrotal
  • Thyroid
  • Renal
  • Obstetrics
  • Muskoloskeletal
  • Neonatal brain

Ultrasound of Upper Abdomen (Liver/Gall Bladder/Pancreas)

  • Fasting for 6 hours before examination

Ultrasound of Pelvis

  • Urinary bladder should be filled with good amount of urine

CT Scan

CT Scan study provides high quality images by utilizing X-Ray beams. The diagnostic details produced by CT Scan study is much higher thangeneral X-Ray studies. It also enables multiplanar images of the organs or tissues of interest. CT Scan also enables 3 Dimension images of the tissue to be produced for better evaluation.

CR Studies Performed:

  • Abdomen/Pelvis
  • Sinuses
  • Chest
  • Temporal Bones
  • Head/Soft Tissue Orbits
  • Head /Brain
  • Spine- Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar
  • CT study or arteries (CTA) and veins (CTV)
  • CTA Studies Performed:
  • CTA Cerebral Arteries
  • CTA Carotid
  • CTA Pulmonary
  • CTA Upper Limb
  • CTA Aorta
  • Cta Lower Limb

CTV Studies Performed: CTV cerebral veins

MRI (Magnetic Resources Imaging)

MRI is a non-radiation procedure which produces images with high diagnostic quality by utilizing magnetic field and radio waves. MRIenables detailed tissue as well as vascular information to assist in managing complex medical conditions and also to compliment otherimaging studies.

  • MRI Head as well as MR studies of arteries and veins (MRA/MRV Brain)
  • MRI of the Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Spine
  • MRI of Upper Extremities
  • MRI of Lower Extremities
  • MRI of Male and Female Pelvis
